The creative collaboration
Just in time for summer, Biotherm has joined forces with Coco Capitan to raise awareness around ocean preservation and help us protect our blue lung. At Biotherm, we believe that the true essence of youth lies in the will to change the world. In summer 2021, we celebrate the work of Coco Capitan, an artistic reflection on the complex issues facing society. The collection is part of the Water Lovers movement committed to a better future for our oceans since 2012. The collection brings a wave of attention to the sustainable issues that surround the beauty industry, in order to inspire our consumers, collaborators and competitors to promote a circular economy, reduce plastic waste & fight for a brighter future.

‘How do you breathe without the sea?’ This is the question written on each Biotherm product with an artistic twist by Coco Capitan. The question is a visual reminder that our life depends on our oceans and is an invitation to raise awareness about the importance to save our blue lung. In her creation, Coco Capitan reinterprets the iconic Great Wave of Kanagawa and adds on it her very distinctive typography with her strong message that invokes the same irresistible force of nature.

About the Water Lovers
Since the creation of the brand, Biotherm has shown its determination to help preserve the world’s oceans and accelerated this mission in 2012 with the Water Lovers program. Water is at the heart of Biotherm’s DNA. It’s also at the heart of its products, and particularly its flagship ingredient, Life Plankton™ probiotic fractions. The mission of the Water Lovers program is to inspire positive change in the beauty industry by developing innovative processes for the conservation of the world’s oceans, the source of more than 50% of the oxygen produced on Earth. As a first step, the brand wanted to embrace change itself, by making a commitment to have zero negative impact on water resources by 2025. 50% of the earth’s oxygen comes from phytoplankton.
The Coco Capitan x Biotherm collection is one more step to this mission to protecting our blue lung.
