OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH PLASTIC OCEANS

Since 2021, Biotherm has been a key partner of Plastic Oceans, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing plastic pollution in our waters.

For each limited edition (best-seller or gift set) sold in 2022, $1* will go directly to Plastic Oceans to support Blue Communities, coastal regions that are dependent on waterways and vulnerable to the harmful impact of pollution in our waters.

The Biotherm × Pablo Rochat collaboration uses the artist’s work to create awareness around our planet’s Blue Lung and highlight the risks that climate change and widespread plastic pollution pose to the phytoplankton living in our seas. The three limited edition products – Life Plankton™ Elixir, Cera Repair Barrier Cream, and Lait Corporel – were created using a mixture of recycled glass and recycled plastic and embody the optimistic and purposeful spirit of the campaign. They are a call to action to preserve our Blue Lung.

MEET PABLO ROCHAT: MAKE OCEANS SMILE EXCLUSIVE DESIGNER

DISRUPTIVE. CREATIVE. PLAYFUL.

Pablo Rochat is an Atlanta-based Creative Director and Artist. Pablo breaks the rules of social media by uncovering the potential of Instagram and uses relatable cultural cues and memes to surprise and entertain the person at the other end of the device while inspiring them with new ideas and fresh perspectives on daily life.

Pablo Rochat began his career as a creative in the advertising industry after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2017, he launched Pablo Rochat Studio, where he produces and directs creative projects for clients such as Nike, Apple, Facebook, New York Times, Netflix, Instagram, and many more.

Applauded for his collaborations, Pablo is best known worldwide for his viral work on Instagram. With the understanding that online audiences have short attention spans, Pablo carefully tailors his creative films, illustrations, and photography to surprise and delight his audience, even in the midst of today’s constant stream of content.

“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed the process of making things and entertaining an audience with my work. This collaboration is a way for me to express and combine two things I love – the ocean and art. It’s always been a subject that I’ve wanted to explore in my creative work and I’m glad to have an opportunity to do that in support of Biotherm’s mission of sustainability. The overall design of the products expresses the vibrant energy flow of the powers of the ocean and my own personal experience of the phytoplankton as the unknown, loveable, and joyful hero of our oceans. A smiling hero worth celebrating,” said Pablo Rochat.

ART FOR THE OCEAN

This summer, Biotherm is using art to give a voice to the ocean.

Biotherm is proud to unveil a limited-edition skincare collection designed by multitalented digital artist Pablo Rochat. This artistic collaboration aims to raise awareness of how climate change is threatening the health of phytoplankton living in our oceans – the source of more than half of the oxygen produced on earth and what makes the ocean our planet’s Blue Lung.

A master of subverting the pillars of social media to entertain, Pablo Rochat is using his art to give a fresh and positive perspective on the role that the ocean plays in all our lives. Diving into the story of our Blue Lung, Pablo Rochat gives life to the little-known heroes of our oceans: phytoplankton.

Thanks to its interpretation of phytoplankton and the use of bright, bold colors, we were able to create an eye-catching collection, representing the vibrancy of our oceans and encouraging conversations on the future of one of our most vast and crucial resources: the ocean. To pay tribute to our oceans, Pablo Rochat was inspired to create modern and vibrant limited-editions bottles of three of the brand’s iconic products: Life Plankton Elixir, Cera Repair Barrier Cream, and Lait Corporel L’Original, emblazoned with smiling phytoplankton.
